The Equinox is a time of balance and a time of transition. With the sun positioned over the equator, days and nights become roughly equal, a short time of balanced light and darkness before the season shifts. The Autumnal Equinox marks the beginning of fall, and is said to be the time to offer our gratitude to the sunshine as we prepare to move into a period of greater darkness. We practice 108 sun salutations in gratitude for the sunshine, and in order to balance our minds and bodies during a time of transition and anticipation.
The sun salutations in this 108 will vary throughout the practice so you won’t be doing the same sequence each time, and there is absolutely no pressure to complete all the salutations. We will enjoy breathing, moving, and sweating together to great music, and bask in a fall-themed celebration when we finish!
