Each month through the end of the year, we will be hosting a skilled, practiced, meditation teacher so that you have the opportunity to begin or deepen your meditation practice with someone experienced in teaching the subject. This is not a series, so you are welcome to any or all of the practices, and no experience is necessary to benefit from and enjoy the sessions. These practices are by donation, and the money will support a local non-profit. This month's donations will support The Warm Place, a Fort Worth non-profit providing grief support for kids and young adults who have lost loved ones.
The Gift of Presence -- Embodying Your Meditation Practice
The gift of presence brings each moment to life within and around us, but often we are too busy to notice. Tonight’s meditation practice invites you to come closer to your own lived experience of being fully present to yourself and the moment. We will explore the role of your body in building your capacity to be present, on your meditation cushion and in your life. Our practice will include a short, guided body scan, and a silent sitting practice. We’ll integrate the practice through group exercise and discussion.
Your host for tonight’s practice is Terry Stevens. Terry has been immersed in the human potential movement for much of her adult life, as a leader, writer, teacher, and for the past 10 years, as an executive and Integral® leadership coach for clients all over the world. She is committed to expanding the capacities of leaders to grow and engage their purpose and values regardless of the circumstances. To forward this aim, she brings a variety of movement, inquiry and meditative practices to support clients in accessing and cultivating personal presence, the foundation for sustained purpose and practical, effective functioning in the world. Terry lives in Fort Worth.
