Each month through the end of the year, we will be hosting a skilled, practiced, meditation teacher so that you have the opportunity to begin or deepen your meditation practice with someone experienced in teaching the subject. This is not a series, so you are welcome to any or all of the practices, and no experience is necessary to benefit from and enjoy the sessions. These practices are by donation, and the money will support a local non-profit. This month's donations will support The Warm Place.
“This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
Some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!”
We’re used to thinking about meditation as a practice in mindfulness. What if it’s also a practice in heartfulness? What would it be like to befriend all experiences, and all feelings: both those you like and those that cause pain? This meditation practice invites you to explore the role your heart plays in your ability to live a whole-hearted life. It will support your ability to welcome and value more of your experience, both on and off the mat.
Your host for this practice is Terry Stevens. Terry has been immersed in the human
potential movement for much of her adult life, as a business leader, writer, teacher, executive coach and a student of The Diamond Approach. People appreciate the blend of backbone and heart that characterize Terry’s coaching style. She brings a variety of movement, inquiry, adult learning models and meditative practices to support clients in accessing and growing their personal presence, the foundation for sustained purpose and practical, elegant functioning in the world.
