Pranayama, Mindfulness, Asana, and Beyond for Depression

It's after the holidays and now what?  Are you fighting with the winter blues or is your depression more serious and chronic?  Have you ever considered a daily practice of Yoga to compliment other therapies and help support your depression?  In this workshop you will learn Yogic practices including lots of pranayama (breathwork), asana, mudra, bandha, and mindfulness meditation that have been researched and proven to support people with depression. 

The world health organization has stated that by 2020 depression and anxiety will be the number one disability worldwide.  Today, in the United States, 25% of women are on either anti-anxiety medications, anti-depressants, or both, with men close behind.  This is a global problem.  Educate yourself on practices that you can do to feel better.

In this workshop we will cover several pranayamas that can be practiced daily to support depression.  We will also cover some tapping practices, and asana, mudra, bandha, and meditation that can create more balance in your mental state.  You will walk away with specific practices to apply at home daily to see results.  The best part about this is once you learn these practices they are free and you can do them daily to support and empower yourself.

Please join ERYT500 certified Yoga therapist Sandra Vanatko for an afternoon dedicated to exploring depression from a Yogic standpoint and applying practices that can support you to feel better.  Sandra is experienced in working with students with depression and can't wait to share tools with you to help you start feeling better.
