3 Tree Yoga is offering a special 5 week series dedicated for seniors starting this October with senior 500 hour teacher Karen Henckell.  This series takes seniors needs and considerations into class structure.  The classes will concentrate on gentle yoga movements and breathing techniques to build strength and stamina, reduce stiffness and increase range of motion.  Give your body the attention and care it needs while improving your balance, posture and mobility.  It’s all about being healthier and happier at any age.

Learn valuable tools you can start applying right away to feel your best.  Experience the wonderful benefits of yoga in a safe environment taught by an experienced teacher, and make a lasting investment in your health.  No prior yoga experience is needed.

About Karen:
Karenʼs love for yoga surfaced later in life. She began taking lessons with Sandra Vanatko at Indraʼs Grace after retiring with 32 years of service in public education. She quickly became intrigued with the stillness and peace within each movement that yoga brings. Karen earned her RYT-200 certification in February 2013 and her RYT-500 certification in March 2016 from Indraʼs Grace A Yoga and Meditation Studio.  She completed Senior Successful Aging Yoga training in March 2015 and Health Breast Cancer Yoga training in May 2017 from YMEDICA.  Karen has taught over 500 classes for seniors since becoming an instructor.  She is incredibly skilled at serving the senior population.  She is committed to bringing compassion, connection, mindfulness, and humor into each of her classes.  She strives to make the practice of yoga accessible and welcoming to everyone and believes yoga can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities.  Her goal is for her students to leave class feeling better both physically and mentally.  She is inspired by and deeply grateful to her students and teachers. Karen enjoys the mind, body and spiritual connection of her yoga practice.  She also treasures the wonderful community it provides.  Karen believes it is an incredible honor and joy to share her love of yoga with others.
